We had an amazing Christmas getaway in a hidden gem nestled in nature. the cabanas were stunning, with beautiful paintings and comfortable beds. the resort was peaceful and immaculate, with a refreshing plunge pool and sun beds to relax on. the food at the communal restaurant was outstanding, offering both Western and local options. the owners went above and beyond to make our stay special, providing recommendations and ensuring we had everything we needed. It truly felt like paradise!
That the accommodation was slightly pricier than other options in the area. However, the experience and level of service made it well worth the extra money.

the location was idyllic, making me feel like I was miles away from everything, yet still just a short tuk tuk ride to the beach. the staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to assist. the cabana itself was beautifully designed and had all the necessary amenities, including a comfortable bed and a clean, well-equipped bathroom. I also enjoyed a delicious fusion breakfast that combined Sri Lankan and Western flavors. it was an unforgettable experience.
The only minor drawback was the lack of comfortable chairs to relax and read a book. Though the stylish stools looked great, they weren't very comfortable for extended periods of sitting.

As adventure travelers, we loved the peaceful and beautiful garden in the jungle setting. The open-wall bathrooms allowed us to enjoy the sights and sounds of the jungle while taking a shower. The intimate atmosphere of the 4 private cabanas provided plenty of privacy. The British owners Christine and Ian were amazing hosts, always offering recommendations and stories. We also enjoyed the delicious food, especially the "Big Curry" breakfast and dinner.
We felt completely at home at Manthally Cabanas, and nothing was too much trouble for the attentive and sweet owners.

We had a lovely time staying at Manthally Cabanas in Hikkaduwa for our family trip. The hosts, Catherine and her husband, were incredibly welcoming and made us feel like old friends. The cabanas were beautiful and clean, made of natural wood and had a unique design. The surrounding jungle provided a peaceful and serene atmosphere, with the sounds of wildlife and birds adding to the charm. The food, both breakfast and dinner, was delicious and the staff was always helpful and friendly. We especially loved the three dogs, Manthally, Bula, and Yoda, who added an extra touch of warmth to our stay. We will definitely be returning to this paradise on earth when we visit Sri Lanka again.
Totally recommend this hotel.
